Slurry Pumps
Slurry pumps are the heart of most heavy industries, including mining, dredging, down-well, Pulp and Paper, steel, and so forth. These pumps are more robust by design, and manufacturing focus includes materials of construction which come in contact with the slurries. OEM’s rarely supply these pumps with any cogent sealing device, opting , normally, for the least expensive packing which will marginally survive. This practice, and its continuance, leads to tremendous wear on the sleeve , water ingress to the power frame from leakage, and continual repacking.
Constantly working against any chosen sealing method are aggressive solids and shaft deflection caused by product plugs and starving of input/throttling of output volume. The PackRyt® system cures the shaft movement problem within the stuffing box, coupling its patented bearing/lantern ring (BLR) with optimum, patented SealRyt® packing. The resultant shaft concentricity and physical barrier provided, sets up a hydraulic balance between minimized flush water and solids, keeping the solids in the volute.
Depending on the chemical, thermal, and mechanical nature of the slurry in question, SealRyt will specify the correct , SealRyt enhanced polymer for the application, many times including our Enhanced Wear System (EWS) for extra service life.
